The IAB Bookmark Award nominations are finally out and we’re thrilled to announce that Livity Africa has scooped a nomination in the Best Contribution to Transformation in the Digital Industry category for our Digify training programme, which offers both long and short courses in digital marketing.

In 2014, in association with Google, Livity Africa launched Digify, a digital bootcamp for 18-25 year olds, offering young people coaching in digital and social media skills to equip them for a digital career. Digify trainees were put through their paces with an intensive three-month programme with training in conceptualizing, pitching and implementing digital campaigns, running social accounts, content creation as well as key Google modules such as Search, AdWords, YouTube and Analytics.

Responding to the needs of the growing digital landscape, Digify expanded to Cape Town as well as Nigeria and Kenya (in 2016), offering shorter, one-day and two-day courses.

Digify is a new pathway in education, employment and empowerment, proving that by learning and improving digital skills, one can increase your chances of becoming employed or starting your own business or freelance career in Africa, as many of our more than 70000-trained have gone on to do.

THE IAB Bookmark Awards honours publishers, individuals, agencies and brands that have brought creative and innovative work that delivers tangible results. Jury President John Dixon, CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi BrandsRock leads the multi-talented jury panel represented by agencies, publishers, private companies and niche businesses that will select the ultimate winners in each category.

Josephine Buys, CEO of IAB SA says, “We are thrilled with the response to the IAB Bookmark Awards this year. Each entry tells a unique story of how digital can be used to achieve relevant, lasting results in multiple sectors.”

Now in its ninth year, the winners of the IAB Bookmarks Awards 2017 will be revealed at the Bookmark Awards ceremony, which will take place on March 16, 2017.
